Meet the Team

Evan grew up on 40 acres surrounded by timberland in Shasta County, therefore was exposed to the world of forestry and forest management at a young age. After working in a variety of environmental related jobs throughout the country, including as a commercial fisherman, ranch hand, outdoor trip instructor, and on a wildland fire crew, he eventually found his way back to his forestry roots and became a licensed forester in 2021. He has a BS in Environmental Studies from UC Santa Cruz, and a MA in Geography from George Washington University.

Evan founded SCLS in 2021, and enjoys working with landowners throughout northern California helping them solve forest management challenges. He's most happy when he is building burn piles on his own property in Montgomery Creek.
